GRANNY APPLE IN GRAN WITH A PLAN
Up to 40 percent of food in the United States is wasted, contributing to extensive environmental, economic, and societal impacts. By reducing the amount of food that is thrown out, cities can stabilize their waste management costs and make progress toward climate and sustainability goals. And by recycling food scraps, cities can minimize what goes into landfills and incinerators.
AS an update to the NRDC's perennial #savethefood campaign, we brought Granny Apple to life, the fresh new face of food waste. Equal parts teacher, scientist, and ornery nana, Granny Apple cut through the mindless IG scrolling to deliver pleasant but firm reminders to #savethefood.
